A strong aftershock hits Haiti

I’ve just read that Haiti experienced a strong aftershock, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, just under two hours ago. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must be, after last week’s quake, to feel the earth move once again. Apparently more buildings, which were damaged last week, have collapsed. I hope and pray to God that this will not unduly hamper rescue and relief efforts already in progress.

  1. Awful isn’t it? It spurred me on to give more. The situation is just so dire. Some Churches in the US are doing amazing things for the children left behind (they anticipate 1 million children have been orphaned and there are simply no adults, no families, no orphanages that can take them in!).

  2. Isn’t that a terrible figure, especially given that there was only a population of about 10 million to start with. But really, the response of the world after this disaster really does go to show that there are still plenty of good and compassionate people in the world.
