Another (slightly worrying) thought for the day from my four year old son!

So, we were all snuggled up together this morning having a cwtch (Welsh for cuddle, for those of you not in the know, but such a lovely word!) when Cheeky, my younger son said this to me;

My younger son, dressed as Indiana Jones, his hero!

My younger son, dressed as Indiana Jones, his hero!

Mummy, if you’re ever arrested by the police, don’t worry too much about it; I’ll come and kick the policemen in the face and pull you away, and Dad will have the car ready. We’ll get you in the car, lock the doors and then drive away really fast so they don’t catch us. And then we’ll go and live in the bakery, because they’ll never think of looking for us there!

There are a couple of points I’d like to make, having shared this with you all.

  • I have never been in trouble with the police in my life, and have a very healthy fear of getting into trouble with the law which has probably kept me from committing various felonies over the years!
  • I have never encouraged this lack of respect for people in authority with my children! I have no idea where he got the idea that it would be OK to kick an officer of the law in the face, unless he was purely thinking of keeping me from (apparently) certain jail time, in which case, you go my son!

Once again, I don’t think I could make this stuff up! I love having kids and watching the way their brains work – they are forever amazing me with their thought processes. They always have something new and interesting to share with me, in their perspective on the world!
