Mackerel sky photo

The beauty of the sky doesn’t really come across in the photo, as I think I caught it just a minute or two too late. However, I thought I’d post it anyway.

  1. Just found you by accident. Like you happy with husband & two kids (13 & 16) but feeling a bit of a need to wake myself up. I’m thinking of going camping on my own for a week in Wales soon so was looking for images of mid wales to inspire me. It might happen if I book the time off & get on with it! As my kids are older than yours it shouldn’t be a problem.
I started going away with a friend for one week a year, several years ago – so my family started to realise they could cope without me – I had to leave ‘desk instructions’ for the washing machine, cooker etc, but it was wonderful. They really bonded well without me there & I got a break & a huge sense of relief. You should try it if you haven’t already.
Anyway, was actually responding to your ‘mackerel sky’. It’s actually a well known term. The saying goes ‘mackerel sky, change is nigh’ (some say ‘rain is nigh’ but I prefer my version). It is a beautiful phenomenon.

  2. That was a cool pic^^

  3. Thank you 🙂
