Woohoo! I’ve signed up for NaNoWriMo! That’s it. I’m now under immense mental pressure until the end of November! What you have to bear in mind is that I haven’t had a deadline now for five and a half years (since I left university) and so I have practically no confidence in my abilities to get anywhere near my target 50,000 word novel to hit this deadline. Oh well. C’est la vie and all that.
I’ll keep you posted (once we’re into November) on a word count. I’ll try and put it in the sidebar or something. And I daresay that if it either goes well, or if it goes really badly (guess which one I’m expecting!) there’ll probably be posts here about it too.

Hmm, I do of course mean “celebrate”…
Well naturally. If we can’t be in a positive frame of mind at this point in the challenge…we’re just about screwed! I guess if the worst comes to the worst I’ll just have to be one of the sad acts who copies and pastes 50000 words from Wikipedia! Anything to get my certificate at the end. And if we win, I promise you on my honour as a Brownie that I will come and visit you in Oxford and we will share a glass of diet water to toast our triumph! (Might even go mad and splurge on a carrot stick)
